What's Included

FBA prep done to Amazon's spec —
not approximately

Amazon's prep requirements are specific, updated frequently, and unforgiving about non-compliance. We stay current so your inventory doesn't get rejected at the FC.

FNSKU Labeling

Every unit labeled with the correct FNSKU in the right location, right size, and right barcode quality. We pull ASINs directly from your Seller Central or you provide the label file — either way, no mislabeled units reach the FC.

Poly-Bagging & Suffocation Labels

Units that require poly-bagging get bagged to Amazon's spec — correct bag thickness, suffocation warning placement, and barcode visibility through the bag confirmed before the unit is sealed.

Bundle & Kit Assembly

Multi-unit bundles, virtual bundles, and product kits assembled and prepped as single ASINs. We follow your bundle configuration, apply the correct FNSKU, and prep the bundled unit for FBA inbound — not as individual components.

Carton & Pallet Prep

Case pack and mixed case shipments built to Amazon's carton requirements — correct box dimensions, unit counts per carton, labeling placement, and pallet configuration for LTL shipments to FCs.

Compliance Inspection

Every unit goes through a pre-shipment compliance check against the current Amazon prep requirements for its category. We catch issues before they reach the FC — not after you've received a chargeback or a disposal fee.

Shipment Plan Coordination

We work directly from your Amazon Shipment Plan — or help you build one — to ensure the right units are going to the right FCs in the right quantities. No inventory splits, no misdirected shipments.

How It Works

From your supplier to
Amazon's FC floor

We receive your inventory, prep it to Amazon's current requirements, and coordinate the inbound shipment so you don't have to touch it.

01

Inventory Arrives at SML

Your products ship directly from your supplier or manufacturer to our Statesville facility. We receive, count, and inspect every unit on arrival — discrepancies documented before prep begins.

Inspection on Arrival
02

ASIN & Prep Requirements Confirmed

We pull your Shipment Plan from Amazon Seller Central (or you share it with us) and confirm the prep requirements for each ASIN — labeling specs, poly-bag requirements, bundling rules, and carton limits.

03

Prep Execution

Each unit is prepped per its ASIN requirements: FNSKU applied, poly-bagged if required, bundled if applicable. Every unit is scanned and logged as it moves through prep. Non-conforming units are flagged before they reach boxing.

Scan-Tracked
04

Carton Build & Label

Prepped units are packed into cartons per your Shipment Plan quantities. Carton labels (from Amazon or generated by our system) are applied to the correct face of each box. Mixed-SKU cartons are packed per Amazon's mixed-case requirements.

05

Inbound Shipment Dispatched

Cartons are palletized if required, staged for pickup, and dispatched to your assigned Amazon FCs. Tracking is confirmed in Seller Central so your inbound shipment reflects accurately.

FC-Ready

Who It's For

For Amazon sellers who've
had enough FC rejections

FBA prep errors are expensive — chargebacks, disposal fees, delayed receiving. SML's prep operation eliminates those costs with a process that's designed around Amazon's requirements, not around convenience.

Private label Amazon sellers importing from overseas manufacturers who ship goods that aren't FC-ready and need a domestic prep step before inbound.

Wholesale and arbitrage sellers who buy in bulk and need units prepped, labeled, and inbounded to multiple FCs on tight timelines.

Brands launching new ASINs who need a reliable prep partner for their first inbound shipment and don't want to learn Amazon's requirements the hard way.

High-volume FBA sellers who've outgrown self-prepping and are losing hours every week to labeling, bagging, and carton building that could be outsourced.

Maybe not the right fit if…

  • You sell exclusively FBA with Amazon handling all prep (Fulfilled by Amazon prep service) — you don't need us for that
  • Your prep requirements are handled by your manufacturer before goods ship
  • You need hazmat prep (Category 9, flammables, etc.) — outside our current scope

FAQ

Common questions

We monitor Amazon's Seller Central prep requirement updates as part of our standard operating procedure. When requirements change — and they do — we update our prep SOPs within 48 hours. We also review each Shipment Plan against current requirements before prep begins, not just at onboarding.
Yes. Your supplier can ship directly to our Statesville facility using your commercial invoice and packing list. We'll receive the shipment, reconcile it against your PO, and notify you of any discrepancies before prep begins. We work with both LCL and FCL container shipments.
If a rejection is caused by our prep error, we'll cover the cost of reprep and re-inbound. We document every prep step, so when rejections happen we can identify the cause immediately and correct it. FC rejections caused by product eligibility or Amazon policy changes outside our prep scope are your responsibility to resolve.
Yes. We build mixed-case shipments per your Shipment Plan exactly as Amazon specifies. Our team follows the carton configuration from the plan — unit counts, SKU mixing rules, and label requirements — so your inbound isn't rejected for incorrect carton content.
Yes, for established sellers we can assist with Shipment Plan creation based on your inventory and destination FC assignments. This is a value-added service we provide during onboarding — we're not doing the selling strategy work, but we can help you structure a compliant inbound plan.
Pricing is per-unit and varies by prep type — labeling only, poly-bag only, full kit assembly, etc. We provide a per-unit rate card during onboarding based on your ASIN mix and prep complexity. Volume discounts apply above certain monthly unit thresholds.
